Greece Tours Compared: Acropolis, Delphi, Meteora, Santorini Cruises, Crete and Corfu Day Trips (Viator vs GetYourGuide vs Klook)
Viator prices and ratings come from Viator's partner data, and GetYourGuide's from its listing pages, all read between about 12:25 and 12:40 AM Pacific time on Oct 23. Klook blocks automated checks, so we link the Klook listings we found without a price. "From" means the lowest date or option, which can leave out site tickets, meals, pickup or tips. Prices are in US dollars as shown; GetYourGuide rounds to the dollar. Always confirm the live price for your dates before you book.
Greece came up more than any other destination in travel questions this week. People are planning honeymoons for next May and June, asking how to get to Cape Sounion, driving past Meteora, looking for a cheap way to Antipaxos from Corfu, and wondering whether Santorini is worth it this fall. Many of these tours, from the Acropolis to Balos Lagoon, are sold by the same local companies on Viator and GetYourGuide, with similar tours on Klook. We matched them so you can compare before you book.
The short answer
- GetYourGuide had the lowest "from" price in all 19 rows. In most rows it was less than $3.50 lower, for example on the Delphi day trip ($44 vs $44.69) and the Meteora day trip ($98 vs $99.43).
- The gaps that matter are on boats: the Balos catamaran ($151 vs $174.87), the Santorini sunset catamaran ($67 vs $85.72) and the Gold catamaran ($95 vs $109.72). The Athens Walks Acropolis tour was also $31 against $38.86.
- Viator often had the same or higher ratings, for example on the small-group Sounion tour and the Meteora sunset tour, and every Viator listing here offers a full refund up to 24 hours ahead.
- Klook has a similar tour in 17 of 19 rows, such as the Meteora day tour and the Delphi day trip, but we couldn't confirm any Klook prices. We didn't find the Santorini wine tour or the Paxos cruise there.
What the "from" price leaves out
- Site tickets: most tours don't include entry. On Viator, the Delphi trip, both Sounion tours, the Knossos tour and the Delos cruise exclude the site fee. The Meteora day trip lists €5 per monastery, and the Acropolis tours include tickets only if you pick that option.
- Getting there: the Meteora day trip meets at Larissa station, the food tour and the Athens Day Cruise don't include transfers, and the Delos cruise shuttle is optional.
- Food and drinks: drinks are extra on both Saronic cruises. On the volcano boat and the Paxos cruise, food is extra too. The volcano trip also leaves out the €10 cable car.
- Small extras: towels on the sunset catamaran and the Balos cruise, beer on the sunset catamaran, and tips everywhere.

Each row is the same tour from the same company, or the closest popular equivalent on that site. Ratings are shown as score out of 5 (number of reviews). The highlighted cell is the lowest price we saw.

The Acropolis and Parthenon
Lowest "from" price we saw: Athens Walks' Acropolis and Parthenon tour on GetYourGuide, from $31 (4.7 from 7,530), against from $38.86 for the same company's walking tour on Viator (4.8 from 6,836). Viator's listing keeps groups to 20 per guide and gives you a headset for groups larger than five. The Acropolis ticket is only included if you pick the option with tickets.
If you also want the museum, Athenian Tours' Acropolis, Parthenon and Acropolis Museum tour was from $38 on GetYourGuide (4.8 from 14,354) and from $38.86 for the same tour on Viator (4.8 from 2,652). Viator's listing says plainly that nobody can skip the entry line at the Acropolis itself. Klook sells a similar Acropolis and Parthenon walking tour, but we couldn't see its price.
An Athens food tour
Lowest "from" price we saw: Alternative Athens' Greek food walking tour on GetYourGuide, from $77 (4.9 from 709), against from $78.86 for the same company's tour on Viator (4.9 from 1,033). Viator's listing counts 15 tastings, which it says add up to lunch. Klook has a similar central markets food tour.
Delphi in a day from Athens
Lowest "from" price we saw: Ammon Express' small-group Delphi, museum and Arachova day trip on GetYourGuide, from $44 (4.8 from 2,699), against from $44.69 for the same trip on Viator (4.7 from 339). GetYourGuide's search page showed this price as a discount, so it may not last. Viator's listing doesn't include entry to the Delphi site and museum, or a guide inside the site; you get an audio guide app and an archaeologist trip attendant. Klook sells a similar Delphi day trip.
Cape Sounion at sunset
Lowest "from" price we saw: Ammon Express' Cape Sounion sunset trip on GetYourGuide, from $31 (4.7 from 10,330), against from $32.00 for the same coach trip on Viator (4.6 from 436). It's a big-bus trip with an audio guide app, and Viator's listing excludes the temple entrance fee.
For a smaller group with hotel pickup, Getaways Greece's small-group Sounion tour was from $40 on GetYourGuide (4.6 from 2,261) and from $40.57 for the same minivan tour on Viator (4.7 from 3,761). The temple ticket is extra on this one too. Klook has a similar sunset tour.
Meteora as a day trip from Athens
Lowest "from" price we saw: Meteora Thrones' 9 AM Meteora day trip on GetYourGuide, from $98 (4.7 from 6,343), against from $99.43 for the same day trip on Viator (4.6 from 1,137). It's a long day, about 14 hours. You meet the bus outside Athens' Larissa train station at 9 AM, lunch is only included if you choose that option, and Viator's listing puts monastery entry at €5 each. Klook sells a similar Meteora day tour by bus.
A Meteora sunset tour from Kalambaka
Lowest "from" price we saw: Meteora Trip's sunset tour with monasteries and caves on GetYourGuide, from $39 (4.7 from 608), against from $40.00 for the same tour on Viator (4.8 from 74). It picks you up from hotels in Kalambaka or Kastraki. Monastery and Byzantine church entry fees are extra. Klook has a similar sunset tour with hermit caves.
Hydra, Poros and Aegina in one day
Lowest "from" price we saw: Key Tours' Hydra, Poros and Aegina cruise on GetYourGuide, from $138 (4.1 from 5,384), against from $140.74 for the same cruise on Viator (3.7 from 539). The buffet lunch and a folk dance show are included. Drinks aren't, and hotel pickup is only included if you choose that option.
Athens Day Cruise's cruise with lunch was from $143 on GetYourGuide (4.1 from 1,549) and from $145.15 for the same cruise on Viator (4.2 from 222). Its Viator listing excludes transport, drinks and guided walks on the islands. Ratings for these big one-day cruises are lower than for the other tours here, so read recent reviews first. Klook sells a similar cruise with lunch.
A Santorini catamaran cruise
Lowest "from" price we saw: Sunset Oia's sunset catamaran with BBQ dinner on GetYourGuide, from $67 (4.6 from 7,382), against from $85.72 for the same cruise on Viator (4.5 from 1,231). That gap of almost $19 is one of the biggest in our table. Viator's listing includes a BBQ meal, local white wine, soft drinks, snorkeling gear and transfers, but not towels or beer.
Vista Yachting's Gold catamaran cruise costs more but includes an open bar, towels and hotel pickup. It was from $95 on GetYourGuide (4.8 from 3,571) and from $109.72 for the same cruise on Viator (4.9 from 1,020). Klook sells a similar sunset catamaran and a similar daytime catamaran with lunch.
The Santorini volcano and hot springs
Lowest "from" price we saw: MTM Experiences' 3-hour volcano and hot springs cruise on GetYourGuide, from $34 (4.3 from 826). Caldera's Boats' similar trip from Fira's old port on Viator was from $34.29 (4.2 from 1,327). These are different companies on the same short route. On Viator, food, drinks, towels and the €10 cable car down to the port aren't included, and the listing marks the volcano itself as excluded, so expect to pay entry there. Klook has a similar volcano and hot springs trip.
A Santorini wine tour
Lowest "from" price we saw: Santorini Day Tours' 12-tasting wine tour on GetYourGuide, from $191 (4.9 from 767), against from $194.30 for the same tour on Viator (5.0 from 1,980). Both are the same tour: three wineries, 12 wines with local cheese and snacks, and hotel pickup. We didn't find a matching tour on Klook.
Delos and Rhenia from Mykonos
Lowest "from" price we saw: Sunfos Alessia Yachting's sail to Rhenia with a guided Delos visit on GetYourGuide, from $129 (4.7 from 851), against from $131.44 for the same cruise on Viator (4.6 from 652). Viator's listing includes the meal, an open bar and snorkel gear. The Delos entrance fee is extra, and the guide is only included if you pick that option.
If you only want the ruins, Delos Travel's half-day Delos tour was from $68.58 on Viator (4.3 from 702), and Klook sells a similar half-day Delos tour.
Balos Lagoon and Gramvousa, Crete
Lowest "from" price we saw: Cretan Sailing Cruises' Balos and Gramvousa catamaran with meal on GetYourGuide, from $151 (4.7 from 419), against from $174.87 for the same cruise on Viator (4.8 from 44). That's about $24 less on GetYourGuide, the biggest gap we found. The buffet, wine, beer, snorkel and paddleboard gear are included. Towels and the Gramvousa fortress ticket aren't, and pickup depends on the option you choose. Klook sells a similar Balos catamaran.
Elafonisi beach from Chania
Lowest "from" price we saw: Quality Travel's Elafonisi day with Elos and honey and wine tasting on GetYourGuide, from $29 (4.7 from 2,876). Fantasy Travel's very similar day on Viator was from $30.86 (4.3 from 202) and includes about four hours on the beach, an hour in Elos, a free umbrella on request and the tastings. GetYourGuide's search page showed its price as a discount. Klook sells a similar Elafonisi day trip.
Knossos and Heraklion
Lowest "from" price we saw: Cretan Odyssey's Knossos and Heraklion city tour with the old market on GetYourGuide, from $45 (4.6 from 594), against from $45.72 for the same tour on Viator (4.4 from 69). The guide and air-conditioned transport are included, but not entry to Knossos Palace or the optional museum. Klook sells a similar Knossos and Heraklion day from Rethymno.
Paxos and Antipaxos from Corfu
Lowest "from" price we saw: Corfu Cruises' Paxos, Antipaxos and Blue Caves cruise on GetYourGuide, from $50 (4.4 from 5,980), against from $51.43 for the same cruise on Viator (3.5 from 31, from far fewer reviews). The Viator listing includes a live guide and WiFi. Food and drinks are sold at the bar on board, and private transport isn't included. We didn't find this cruise on Klook.
Which tours fit your kind of trip
Honeymooners hopping Athens and the Cyclades
Honeymooners and groups are planning trips for next May and June that start in Athens and then hop between islands. In Athens, the Acropolis and Parthenon tour ($31) and the Greek food walk make a good first day. On Santorini, splurge on one evening: the sunset catamaran or the 12-tasting wine tour, which ends at sunset. From Mykonos, the sail to Rhenia and Delos adds a swim and some history.
A day or two spare in Athens
Someone asked about the public bus to Cape Sounion because their route wasn't running. A tour solves that: the Sounion sunset coach trip was $31, or the small-group version with hotel pickup if you'd rather skip the meeting point. With a full day, choose between Delphi and the Hydra, Poros and Aegina cruise.
Driving through Meteora
Road-trippers driving from Kalambaka towards Thessaloniki asked what's worth stopping for. If you stay a night in Kalambaka or Kastraki, the sunset tour with monasteries and hermit caves ($39) is the easiest way to see the rocks at their best. Without a car, the 9 AM day trip from Athens does it in one long day.
Corfu day-trippers heading for Antipaxos
A traveler wanted to reach Antipaxos from Corfu without paying a fortune. The cheapest option we found was the Paxos, Antipaxos and Blue Caves cruise at $50 on GetYourGuide, about the same as the Viator listing at $51.43. Bring lunch money, since food is sold on board.
Solo and budget travelers this fall
A solo backpacker crossing into Greece now asked whether Santorini is worth the cost. The island's cheapest tours are reasonable: the volcano and hot springs boat was $34. Crete is an easy alternative, with the Elafonisi beach day at $29 and the Knossos and Heraklion tour at $45. Check the calendar for your dates, since boat trips may run less often outside summer.
Booking tips
- Match the company name. In 17 of our 19 rows the same company sells the tour on both Viator and GetYourGuide, for example Ammon Express (Delphi), Meteora Thrones (Meteora day trip), Vista Yachting (Gold catamaran) and Cretan Sailing Cruises (Balos). Prices still differed by up to $24.
- Add the site fees to your budget. Entry to the Delphi site, the Temple of Poseidon, Knossos, Delos and each Meteora monastery is often not in the "from" price.
- Discounts come and go. GetYourGuide's search page showed the Delphi trip and the Elafonisi day as discounted, so those prices may not last.
- Big cruises get mixed reviews. The Hydra, Poros and Aegina cruise and the Paxos cruise have lower ratings than the small tours, so read recent reviews before you book.
- Free cancellation is common. Every Viator listing in our table, from the Acropolis tour to the Paxos cruise, gives a full refund if you cancel at least 24 hours ahead. Check each GetYourGuide listing, such as the Balos cruise, for its own terms.
