Italy in November: Best-Value Tours Compared (Viator vs GetYourGuide vs Klook)
The booking sites block automated price checks, so we read the prices from search-engine copies of each listing or category page. For many rows only the search engine's summary of the page was available, so treat those as rough. Some copies may be older than our check date. "From" means the lowest date or option, and sale prices come and go. Prices are in the currency the page showed. Always confirm the live price for your dates before you book.
Italy travel forums have been full of trips planned for the next few weeks and months: couples splitting time between Florence and Rome in early November, two slow weeks in Sicily, a December run from Venice to Rome, families with toddlers heading to Tuscany in spring, and people trying to budget excursions for a trip next summer. The tours they ask about — the Colosseum, the Vatican, Michelangelo's David, Tuscan hill towns, Pompeii, Venice by gondola and boat, and Mount Etna — are sold on Viator, GetYourGuide and Klook, often by different operators at quite different headline prices. We matched the most popular versions so you can compare before you book.
The short answer
- GetYourGuide had the lowest "from" price in 6 of 9 rows: Accademia ($49), Pompeii from Rome ($78), the shared gondola ($42, just under Viator's $42.35), the lagoon islands boat tour ($23 sale price), Mount Etna ($67, just under Viator's $67.53) and the Trastevere food tour ($117).
- Viator was cheapest in the other 3: the Vatican (a skip-the-line group tour from $22.89, against $89.09 on Klook), the Colosseum ($51.39 vs $55 on GetYourGuide) and the Siena / San Gimignano day trip ($56.08 vs $80, though GetYourGuide's price includes a winery lunch and tasting).
- Klook was never the cheapest in our rows, and three of its listings showed no price.
- The same food tour costs different amounts: Eating Europe's Twilight Trastevere tour showed $117 on GetYourGuide, $119.03 on Viator and US$148.49 on Klook.
Touring Italy in late autumn
- Shorter days: the light goes early in November, so book the big sights in the morning and keep evenings for food tours and walks.
- Rain plans: museums (the Vatican, the Accademia) are good rainy-day bookings. Most tours run rain or shine — one Colosseum listing says so outright — so pack a layer and keep free cancellation where you can.
- Venice high water: acqua alta is most likely from late autumn into winter. Gondola and lagoon boat times can change at short notice.
- Etna: it's colder and windier on the volcano than in Catania or Taormina, and tour routes depend on volcanic activity and weather.
- Vatican Wednesdays: one listing notes St. Peter's Basilica is closed on Wednesday mornings for the Papal Audience, so tours then skip it.

Notes: prices were read from each listing in US dollars on Oct 19, 2026; "was" is the struck-through price shown next to a sale price. The GetYourGuide Vatican price was not re-checked that day. Rows with different operators can differ in group size, time on site and what's included (entry tickets, lunch, hotel pickup), so read the inclusions before picking the cheapest.

Most reviewed: Crown Tours on GetYourGuide, from $55 (was $69), 4.8 from more than 93,000 reviews. The arena floor costs extra on most tours. Enter every traveler's full legal name when booking: names are checked against ID at the gate.

Michelangelo's David (Accademia Gallery)
Lowest "from" price we saw: GetYourGuide's one-hour guided tour with timed entry, from $49, 4.7 from 4,802. Viator's Accademia tour (shared, private and combo options) was from $61.00 (4.9 from 410). Klook's guided tour showed no price.
Siena, San Gimignano and Chianti
Lowest "from" price we saw: Viator's Siena & San Gimignano day trip with scenic views, from $56.08 (4.7 from 416). Check what's included before you compare.
With lunch and wine: GetYourGuide's coach day trip, from $80 (was $89), 4.6 from 4,288, includes a three-course winery lunch and a tasting; reviews say they can feel rushed. Klook's version with six tastings was from US$127.69 (new, no reviews yet).
Pompeii from Rome

A gondola ride in Venice
Shared rides were the cheapest way on: GetYourGuide's Grand Canal ride with app commentary was from $42 (was $44; 4.2 from 26,792). Viator's Grand Canal gondola ride with storytelling was from $42.35 (4.0 from 4,793) and Klook's shared ride US$51.89 (3.9 from 115). Reviews mention short boat time and sharing with strangers. A Rome food tour
Eating Europe's four-hour Twilight Trastevere tour with wine is the same product everywhere: from $117 on GetYourGuide (4.9 from 871), from $119.03 on Viator (4.9 from 6,754), and US$148.49 on Klook. It replaces dinner. For a cheaper three-hour option, GetYourGuide's Ultimate Trastevere Food Tour showed from $66 (was $96; 4.8 from 451).
Which tours fit your kind of trip
Florence and Rome in early November, with one free day
Siena is the classic pick. If you'd rather not plan the buses, the Siena / San Gimignano / Chianti day trip (from $80 on GetYourGuide) adds a winery lunch. In Rome, book the Colosseum and the Vatican on different days. Each one is a half day on your feet.
Two slow weeks in Sicily
For people who want museums, food and wine without rushing, a half-day Etna tour (from about $67) is the one booking worth making early. Pick a version with pickup so you don't have to drive mountain roads. Leave the rest of the days loose. Klook and GetYourGuide both list Etna tours that add a winery, if you'd rather combine the two.
Venice first, then Rome (December or this month)
Three days in Venice is enough for a shared gondola (about $42–52) and a lagoon islands boat trip ($23–29 for the basic versions). In late autumn, check the high-water forecast the day before and keep free cancellation. For gap days on the way to Rome, Florence's Accademia tour is about an hour and easy to fit in.
Families with toddlers or babies
Shorter tours work best: the one-hour Accademia tour, a 30-minute gondola, or a short Colosseum tour. Long coach days like Pompeii from Rome are hard with little ones. Colosseum entry is free for under-18s (listings show a €0 child ticket), but tours still charge for or count children, so add every child when you book.
Budgeting a trip for next year
Use these "from" prices as a rough budget, then book the Vatican, Colosseum and Accademia with free cancellation as soon as your dates are firm. Those sell out first. Re-check prices nearer the time: sale prices of 20–50% off showed up on several GetYourGuide listings this week.
Booking tips
- Use full legal names for every traveler on Colosseum and Vatican bookings. Names are checked against ID, and listings warn that mistakes can mean no entry and no refund.
- Compare inclusions, not just price. Entry tickets, lunch, wine, hotel pickup and Vesuvius add-ons explain most of the gaps in the table.
- Check the cancellation policy. Some listings are non-refundable (one Viator Vatican small-group tour and one Klook Colosseum tour were, when we first looked), while others allow free cancellation up to 24 hours or 3 days ahead.
- Check your exact date. "From" is the cheapest date or option, and sale prices change daily.
- Watch the currency. Pages showed USD, GBP and EUR. Set your currency before you compare.
- Match the operator name when you can. Eating Europe sells the same Trastevere tour on all three sites, and the cheapest total for your date wins.
