Prague Tours Compared: Prague Castle, Old Town, Vltava Cruises, Christmas Markets and Day Trips to Kutná Hora, Český Krumlov and Bohemian Switzerland (Viator vs GetYourGuide vs Klook)
Viator prices and ratings come from Viator's partner data, and GetYourGuide's from its listing pages, all read between about 6:30 and 6:40 PM Pacific time on Oct 24. Klook blocks automated checks, so we link the Klook listings we found without a price. "From" means the lowest date or option, which can leave out tickets, meals, pickup or tips. Prices are in US dollars as shown; GetYourGuide rounds to the dollar. Always confirm the live price for your dates before you book.
Prague and the Czech Republic came up more than any other destination we haven't covered recently in this week's travel questions. People are planning a nine-day trip around the country, a first solo trip starting in Prague, and a first visit that might fall in December. Most of the popular tours, from Prague Castle to Kutná Hora and Bohemian Switzerland, are sold by the same local companies on Viator and GetYourGuide, with similar tours on Klook. We matched 21 of them so you can compare before you book.
The short answer
- GetYourGuide had the lowest "from" price in 18 of 21 rows. Often the gap was under $3, for example on the underground tour ($30 vs $30.83) and the Terezín tour ($64 vs $64.74).
- The gaps that matter are on day trips: Karlovy Vary ($59 vs $85.29), Uniline's Bohemian Switzerland trip ($151 vs $165.55) and Bohemian Walks' Český Krumlov tour ($113 vs $125.59).
- Viator was cheaper in 3 rows, and by a lot on two Bohemia Adventures trips: Bohemian and Saxon Switzerland ($68.50 vs $123) and Dresden and the Bastei Bridge ($141 vs $218). The ONE PRAGUE TOUR was also slightly cheaper there.
- Klook has a similar tour in 19 of 21 rows, such as the Kutná Hora tour and the Terezín tour, but we couldn't confirm any Klook prices. We didn't find the ONE PRAGUE TOUR or a Dresden day trip there.
What the "from" price leaves out
- Interiors and tickets: the 90-minute Old Town walk doesn't go inside, and both Český Krumlov trips exclude the castle interior. The castle tour, the Jewish Quarter tour with tickets and the underground tour do include entry.
- Getting there: Premiant's Terezín, Český Krumlov and Karlovy Vary trips don't include hotel pickup; the Bohemian Walks tour, Uniline's trip and Bohemia Adventures' trip do.
- Food and drinks: extra on the panoramic cruise, the Kutná Hora trip and Premiant's day trips. On the dinner cruise only the welcome drink is included, and the folklore dinner leaves out spirits.
- Tips are extra everywhere, as listed on the food tour and the Christmas markets tour.

Lowest "from" price we saw: Fun in Prague's castle tour with a local guide and entry ticket on GetYourGuide, from $58 (4.7 from 12,033 reviews), against from $59.37 for the same company's castle interiors tour on Viator (4.2 from 56 reviews). Viator's listing includes the castle admission ticket (St. Vitus Cathedral, the Old Royal Palace, St. George's Basilica and Golden Lane), a public transport ticket and headphones. Klook sells a similar castle tour with admission, but we couldn't see its price.
Old Town and the Jewish Quarter on foot
Lowest "from" price we saw: Get Prague Guide's 90-minute Old Town and Jewish Quarter walk on GetYourGuide, from $22 (4.6 from 3,239 reviews), against from $22.72 for the same walk on Viator (4.5 from 27 reviews, from far fewer reviews). It's an outside walk: Viator's listing excludes entry to interiors. Klook has a similar 90-minute walk.
To go inside the synagogues and the Old Jewish Cemetery, the same company's Jewish Quarter tour with admission tickets was from $74 on GetYourGuide (4.7 from 4,518 reviews) and from $75.35 for the same tour on Viator (4.6 from 541 reviews). Viator's listing includes the cemetery, the Old-New Synagogue and the Spanish, Pinkas and Maisel synagogues. Klook sells a similar tour with tickets.
The medieval underground and ghost walks
Lowest "from" price we saw: Prague Tours' Old Town, medieval underground and dungeon tour on GetYourGuide, from $30 (4.4 from 11,856 reviews), against from $30.83 for the same tour on Viator (4.7 from 6,110 reviews). Viator's listing says all entry fees are included, and the tour ends in a dungeon with medieval torture instruments, so it may not suit young kids. Klook sells a similar underground tour.
For an evening walk, McGee's ghosts and legends of the Old Town tour was from $20 on GetYourGuide (4.5 from 3,442 reviews) and from $20.55 for the same walk on Viator (4.7 from 3,096 reviews). Klook has a similar ghost walk and a ghosts and underground combo.
A Vltava River cruise
Lowest "from" price we saw: Premiant City Tour's 50-minute panoramic Vltava cruise on GetYourGuide, from $17 (4.1 from 9,662 reviews), against from $19.41 for the same cruise on Viator (3.8 from 386 reviews). It's a short hop with an online audio guide; food and drinks are extra. Ratings for these short cruises are lower than for the walking tours, so keep expectations simple. Klook sells a similar panoramic cruise and a 50-minute sightseeing cruise.
For dinner on the water, Prague Boats' 3-hour glass-boat dinner cruise was from $89 on GetYourGuide (4.4 from 7,148 reviews) and from $92.51 for the same cruise on Viator (3.9 from 614 reviews). The buffet, a welcome drink and live music are included; other drinks are extra. Klook sells a similar 3-hour dinner cruise and an evening cruise with buffet dinner.
A Czech folklore dinner show
Lowest "from" price we saw: Fun in Prague's folkloric dinner show with unlimited drinks on GetYourGuide, from $64 (4.6 from 1,707 reviews), against from $65.08 for the same show on Viator (4.6 from 91 reviews). Viator's listing includes a 4-course Czech dinner, unlimited beer, wine and soft drinks, and live folk music and dance. Spirits aren't included, and hotel pickup only comes with the transfer option. Klook sells a similar folklore dinner show.
Beer: the Pilsner Urquell Experience
Lowest "from" price we saw: the Pilsner Urquell Experience with tastings on GetYourGuide, from $24 (4.6 from 4,234 reviews), against from $27.40 for the same entry on Viator (4.7 from 830 reviews). Viator's listing includes the immersive exhibition with headphones and three beer tastings; food isn't included. GetYourGuide's search page showed its price as discounted. Klook sells a similar Pilsner Urquell entry.
A Prague food tour
Lowest "from" price we saw: Eating Europe's food and beer tour on GetYourGuide, from $100 (4.9 from 394 reviews), against from $101.61 for the same tour on Viator (4.9 from 973 reviews). Viator's listing counts 8 tastings and 2 drinks across Old Town and New Town, with a stop at Café Louvre and apple strudel to finish. Klook has a similar food tour.
For less, the ONE PRAGUE TOUR on Viator was from $66.48 (5.0 from 166 reviews), a little under the same tour on GetYourGuide at from $68 (5.0 from 176 reviews). It mixes sightseeing with one food stop and two beer tastings, and Viator's listing notes that it doesn't go inside the sights. We didn't find it on Klook.
Communism and a nuclear bunker
Lowest "from" price we saw: the communism and nuclear bunker tour on GetYourGuide, from $42 (4.7 from 3,114 reviews), against from $42.81 for a very similar tour on Viator (4.8 from 2,933 reviews). The two listings show different company names, so we treat them as similar rather than identical. Viator's listing includes public transport to the bunker and entry to the bunker museum; it doesn't visit the museum of communism in the center. Klook sells a similar bunker walking tour.
Christmas markets with a local
Lowest "from" price we saw: Prague City Adventures' Christmas markets tour with inclusions on GetYourGuide, from $95 (4.9 from 34 reviews), against from $97.05 for the same company's markets tour on Viator (5.0 from 71 reviews). Viator's listing describes a private tour with pickup at your stay, a hot drink and traditional Czech Christmas cookies. Both have few reviews so far, which is normal for a seasonal tour. Klook sells a similar private Christmas market tour.
Kutná Hora and the Bone Chapel

With hotel pickup and a smaller vehicle, Bohemian Walks' full-day tour with pickup was from $113 on GetYourGuide (4.8 from 658 reviews) and from $125.59 for the same tour on Viator (4.6 from 1,100 reviews), one of the bigger gaps here. The castle interior isn't included. Klook sells a similar day trip with castle tickets and a similar walking tour from Prague.
Bohemian and Saxon Switzerland
Lowest "from" price we saw: Bohemia Adventures' small-group day trip on Viator, from $68.50 (5.0 from 3,851 reviews), against from $123 for the same company's trip on GetYourGuide (4.9 from 214 reviews). That's the biggest gap in Viator's favor, so check what the cheapest option includes for your date. Viator's listing includes hotel pickup, lunch, snacks, all fees and hiking gear.
Uniline's Iconic Day Trip on GetYourGuide was from $151 (4.9 from 1,289 reviews), against from $165.55 for the same trip on Viator (4.9 from 408 reviews). It also includes pickup, lunch and admission fees; GetYourGuide's search page showed its price as discounted. Klook sells a similar Bohemian and Saxon Switzerland tour and a Bastei Bridge and Narnia rocks day.
Terezín Memorial
Lowest "from" price we saw: Premiant City Tour's Terezín tour on GetYourGuide, from $64 (4.4 from 1,574 reviews), against from $64.74 for the same tour on Viator (4.4 from 192 reviews). Viator's listing includes the Small Fortress, the museum and the crematorium, plus round-trip transport; food and hotel pickup aren't included. Klook sells a similar half-day tour.
Dresden and the Bastei Bridge
Lowest "from" price we saw: Bohemia Adventures' Dresden city tour and Bastei Bridge trip on Viator, from $141.00 (5.0 from 480 reviews), against from $218 for the same company's small-group trip on GetYourGuide (5.0 from 40 reviews). Viator's listing includes lunch in a German restaurant, snacks and drinks. Dresden is in Germany, so carry your passport. We didn't find a matching Dresden trip on Klook.
Karlovy Vary
Lowest "from" price we saw: Premiant City Tour's Karlovy Vary trip with the watchtower and funicular on GetYourGuide, from $59 (4.4 from 562 reviews), against from $85.29 for the same trip on Viator (4.3 from 85 reviews). That's about $26 less on GetYourGuide, the biggest gap in its favor, though its search page showed the price as discounted. Viator's listing includes the Diana watchtower and funicular tickets; food and hotel pickup aren't included. Klook sells a similar Karlovy Vary and Diana tour.

A week or more in the Czech Republic
One traveler has nine days in the country and asked what to see beyond Prague. Day trips are easy from the city: Kutná Hora and the Bone Chapel ($81) takes about half a day, Český Krumlov ($86) and Karlovy Vary ($59) each take a full day, and Bohemian and Saxon Switzerland ($68.50 on Viator) adds a hike and a border crossing.
First-time solo travelers starting in Prague
A first-time solo traveler is ending a first trip to Europe in Prague. Group walks are a cheap way to get your bearings and meet people: the Old Town and Jewish Quarter walk was $22, the evening ghost walk $20, and the medieval underground tour $30. For food and beer with a group, the ONE PRAGUE TOUR was $66.48 on Viator.
Visiting in December
Another traveler is choosing between a summer and a December trip. December brings the Christmas markets tour ($95) and the warm glass-boat dinner cruise ($89). Book day trips such as Kutná Hora for the morning, since it gets dark early.
Booking tips
- Match the company name. In almost every row the same company sells the tour on both Viator and GetYourGuide, for example Premiant City Tour (river cruise, Terezín), Fun in Prague (castle tour) and Bohemia Adventures (Bohemian Switzerland). Prices still differed by up to $77.
- Discounts come and go. GetYourGuide's search page showed the Karlovy Vary trip, the Uniline trip and the Bohemian Walks tour as discounted, so those prices may not last.
- Short cruises get mixed reviews. The panoramic cruise and the dinner cruise are rated lower than the walking tours, so read recent reviews first.
- Bring your passport for Germany. The Dresden and Bohemian and Saxon Switzerland trips cross the border.
- Free cancellation is common. Every Viator listing in our table, from the castle tour to the Karlovy Vary trip, gives a full refund if you cancel at least 24 hours ahead. Check each GetYourGuide listing, such as the Christmas markets tour, for its own terms.
