Switzerland Tours Compared: Jungfraujoch, Mount Titlis, Pilatus, Grindelwald, Interlaken Paragliding, the Bernina Express and Zurich (Viator vs GetYourGuide vs Klook)
Viator prices and ratings come from Viator's partner data, and GetYourGuide's from its listing pages, all read between about 6:15 and 6:35 AM Pacific time on Oct 27. Klook blocks automated checks, so we link the Klook listings we found without a price. "From" means the lowest date or option, which can leave out meals, hotel pickup, upgrades, extras or tips. Prices are in US dollars as shown; GetYourGuide rounds to the dollar. Always confirm the live price for your dates before you book.
Switzerland came up more than any other destination we haven't covered recently in the past day's travel questions, and every trip was for December: a week in St. Moritz with the Bernina Express, a family of five looking at the Alps for Christmas, and a Christmas-market road trip ending near Grindelwald and Lauterbrunnen. Most of the classic day trips, from the Jungfraujoch to Mount Titlis and the Rhine Falls, are run by the same Swiss companies on both Viator and GetYourGuide, often with a similar listing on Klook. We matched 25 of them so you can compare before you book.
The short answer
- GetYourGuide had the lowest "from" price in 22 of 25 rows, usually by just a few dollars, like the Jungfraujoch from Zurich ($320 vs $328.05) and the Mount Titlis day ($199 vs $204.26). The big gaps were the Bernina day trips from Milan, like TaoTravel's ($121 vs $158.28), and the Zurich old town walk ($15 vs $30.95).
- Viator was cheaper in 3 rows: the Zurich food tour ($136.64 vs $173), Lucerne and Pilatus from Zurich ($209.21 vs $222) and the Pilatus half day from Lucerne ($196.83 vs $198).
- No rows tied.
- Klook has a similar listing in 21 of 25 rows, such as a Jungfraujoch tour and a Titlis day, but we couldn't confirm any Klook prices.
What the "from" price leaves out
- Hotel pickup and food: the big day trips, like the Jungfraujoch from Zurich and Mount Titlis, start from a meeting point and don't include food or drinks.
- Options and seats: on Frigerio Viaggi's Bernina tour, a panoramic-carriage seat comes only with the panoramic option, and on the Zermatt day, the Glacier Paradise cable car is included only if you pick it.
- Small extras: the Rhine Falls boat ride is CHF 12 per adult on site, and paragliding photos and video cost extra.
- Weather: high-mountain sights like the Ice Palace and Sphinx terrace and the Titlis Cliff Walk are listed as weather permitting, and in December that matters.

Viator's listing includes the Rotair cable cars, the Cliff Walk and Glacier Cave, and snowtubing at the middle station from December to March (weather and snow permitting). Klook has a similar Titlis tour from Zurich.
Gray Line Zurich's version, Mt. Titlis, Glacier Paradise and Lucerne, was from $216 on GetYourGuide (4.7 from 154 reviews) against from $221.59 on Viator (4.7 from 194 reviews). If you want to try skiing, Klook sells a Titlis snow day with Lucerne.
Mount Pilatus

This is one of the few rows where Viator was cheaper. Klook has a similar Lucerne and Pilatus tour from Zurich.
If you're already in Lucerne, there's a half-day version. Lowest "from" price we saw: the half-day Pilatus trip with a lake cruise on Viator, from $196.83 (4.6 from 1,493 reviews), against from $198 for the same tour on GetYourGuide (4.7 from 2,887 reviews). The gap is about a dollar.
Grindelwald, Lauterbrunnen and Interlaken
Lowest "from" price we saw: the guided day trip from Zurich on GetYourGuide, from $113 (4.6 from 8,747 reviews), against from $115.25 for the same day trip on Viator (4.5 from 832 reviews). At $113, it's the cheapest way in our table to see the Jungfrau region from Zurich. Viator's listing says optional activities and food are extra. Klook sells a similar guided tour to the same villages.
Gray Line Zurich's Interlaken and Grindelwald coach day was from $126 (4.4 from 212 reviews), against from $128.74 on Viator (3.8 from 368 reviews). Klook also has a hop-on hop-off bus to the same villages.

The Bernina Express and St. Moritz

Klook has a similar city, ferry and cable car tour.
For chocolate, there's a city tour with a Lindt visit. Lowest "from" price we saw: the city, lake cruise and Lindt Home of Chocolate tour on GetYourGuide, from $91 (4.5 from 5,749 reviews), against from $92.84 for the same tour on Viator (4.2 from 1,196 reviews). Viator's listing includes the Lindt ticket and a 30-minute lake cruise. Klook sells a similar city, cruise and Lindt tour. If you'd rather go on your own, the Lindt Home of Chocolate guided tour and ticket was from $36 (4.7 from 742 reviews).
Zurich food tour
Lowest "from" price we saw: Secret Food Tours' Zurich tour on Viator, from $136.64 (4.9 from 635 reviews), against from $173 for the same tour on GetYourGuide (4.8 from 156 reviews). That's the biggest Viator win in our table. Viator's listing includes cheese tasting, fondue bites, rösti, a Zurich sausage, Swiss chocolate and hot chocolate.
Lucerne old town
Lowest "from" price we saw: the 1.5-hour walk with an official guide on GetYourGuide, from $30 (4.7 from 370 reviews), against from $30.95 for Lucerne Tourism's official city tour on Viator (4.7 from 177 reviews). The two listings are sold by different companies. Klook has a similar Lucerne walking tour.
Rhine Falls
Lowest "from" price we saw: the Rhine Falls coach tour with entry on GetYourGuide, from $53 (4.7 from 902 reviews), against from $54.47 for the same tour on Viator (4.3 from 442 reviews). Viator's listing includes Laufen Castle; the boat ride is extra (CHF 12 per adult, paid on site). Klook sells a similar Rhine Falls half day.

The two listings use different company names. Klook has a shorter chocolate and pastry walk.

Viator's listing includes the coach and the shuttle into Zermatt; the Glacier Paradise cable car is included only if you pick that option, and lunch isn't included. A week in St. Moritz in December
One traveler is planning about seven days in St. Moritz in mid-December, with the Bernina Express, skiing and walks around the lake. The Bernina day trips in our table start in Milan, like TaoTravel's Bernina day ($121), so they suit you only if you're coming through Italy. From the St. Moritz side, the Bernina Red Train return day-ticket was from $123 on GetYourGuide (4.5 from 1,137 reviews). It's sold as a Tirano to St. Moritz return, so check that it works in the direction you need. We didn't compare ski passes.
A family of five in the Alps at Christmas
A family with three young kids is planning a last-minute Alps trip for mid to late December. Prices add up fast for five: the Jungfraujoch from Zurich is $320 per person before any child discounts, while the Grindelwald, Interlaken and Lauterbrunnen day is $113. The Mount Titlis day ($199 on GetYourGuide) includes snowtubing from December to March, weather permitting, which kids may like more than the summit views.
A Christmas-market road trip that ends in Interlaken
A couple driving between Christmas markets from December 11 to January 1 wants to finish in Zurich or Interlaken to see Grindelwald and Lauterbrunnen. From Interlaken, the Jungfraujoch tour takes about 7 hours ($314), and a tandem paragliding flight ($218) lands right in town. In Zurich, the 2-hour Christmas markets tour was from $79, but it has only 10 reviews (3.5 out of 5), so the old town walk ($15) is the safer pick.
Booking tips
- Match the company name. Best of Switzerland Tours (Grindelwald), Gray Line Zurich (Titlis) and Keytours (Zermatt) sell the same tours on both big sites, usually a few dollars apart.
- Check Viator for Pilatus and food. GetYourGuide was cheaper almost everywhere, but Viator won on Pilatus from Zurich and the Zurich food tour.
- Pick a clear day for the summits. Book the Jungfraujoch or Titlis early in your trip so you can move it if the weather turns. Every Viator listing we checked, from the Jungfraujoch from Interlaken to the Gruyères train day, gives a full refund if you cancel at least 24 hours ahead.
- Bring your passport. Klook's Rhine Falls listing says you need it because the return goes through Germany, and the Bernina day trips from Milan cross the Swiss border.
