Thailand in November: Best-Value Tours Compared (Viator vs GetYourGuide vs Klook)
The booking sites block automated price checks, so we read the prices from search-engine copies of each listing page and from partner sites that republish platform prices. Some of those copies may be days or weeks older than our check date. "From" means the lowest date or option. Prices are in the currency the page showed (we didn't convert them). Always confirm the live price for your dates before you book. National-park fees on island trips are often paid in cash on the day.
Planning Bangkok, Phuket or Chiang Mai for late October or November? Travel forums have been full of Thailand trip questions lately — solo first-timers, friend groups heading to Phuket, people who want temples and food rather than party boats, and travelers asking for ethical elephant experiences (no riding). Many of the classic day trips (Damnoen Saduak and the railway market, Ayutthaya, Phi Phi, James Bond Island, cooking classes) are sold on Viator, GetYourGuide and Klook at different headline prices. We matched popular products so you can compare before you book.
The short answer
- GetYourGuide and Klook often showed the lowest "from" prices on Bangkok market day trips in the snapshots we found (around $24–25 for Damnoen Saduak + Maeklong Railway Market), with huge review counts on GetYourGuide.
- Ayutthaya temple + floating-market day trips clustered around 1,500 THB / about $48 on GetYourGuide and Viator; a similar Klook listing showed From US$54.20.
- Phuket island days often looked cheapest on Klook for popular Phi Phi speedboat products (From about US$32.65–39.65 in indexed pages), while premium Viator speedboats were higher — but park fees and lunch inclusions differ, so compare the voucher.
- Same-operator matches are clearest for Mama Noi (Chiang Mai cooking) and Elephant Jungle Sanctuary (Phuket). Phi Phi and James Bond rows are usually equivalent popular products, not always identical SKUs.
What late October and November are like in Thailand
- Shoulder season: rains ease for much of the country after the wettest months. Bangkok and the north (Chiang Mai) are usually more pleasant by November.
- Andaman coast (Phuket, Krabi, Phi Phi): still can be showery in late October, then typically drier into November. Boat days can cancel in rough seas — keep free cancellation.
- Gulf islands (Koh Samui and neighbors): November is often one of their wetter months, so if beaches are the priority, Andaman or the east coast can be the safer bet.
- Crowds and prices: cooler-season demand builds through November into peak winter. Booking popular Phi Phi and Ayutthaya dates a bit ahead helps.
- Dress for temples: shoulders and knees covered at major wats; bring a light cover-up you can slip on.
Same tour, three sites
Each row is the same tour (same operator) or a closely equivalent popular product found on two or three sites. Ratings are shown as score out of 5 (number of reviews) where the page showed them. The highlighted cell is the lowest price we saw. Fees in italics are often paid on the day.

Damnoen Saduak + Ayutthaya (long combo day; various operators) | Shared combos From about $58–$64 on indexed hubs; private From about $179 | Damnoen + Ayutthaya From about USD $66 (one AU-locale listing) | Usually sold as separate Ayutthaya or market products |
Notes: most figures came from a search engine's summary or a partner site that reprints the listing, so treat them as rough. Island tours often add national-park fees in cash. Mama Noi's own site has listed about 1,000 THB direct — worth comparing. "Ethical" elephant experiences vary: feeding/bathing packages are not the same as observation-only sanctuaries.
Best-value picks by activity
Floating market and Maeklong Railway Market
Most-reviewed bargain we saw: Damnoen Saduak + Maeklong on GetYourGuide (Bigcountry Experience), from $25, 4.5 from about 26,700 reviews, roughly 7 hours with AC transport and a paddleboat. Go early if you can — the railway-market train moment is the photo highlight, and free time at Damnoen is where you eat (lunch usually not included; bring cash).
Also compare: Klook's Damnoen + Maeklong listings (one indexed page showed about 1,250 THB with a very large review count) and Viator's half-day railway + floating market tour.
Ayutthaya
Temples + floating market: GetYourGuide's Ayutthaya & Ayothaya day (Hana Go Pro) was from $48 / about 1,500 THB, 4.7 (6,295), 8 hours — matching Viator's Ayothaya listing at 1,500 THB. Klook's Ayutthaya Wat Mahathat & Floating Market day showed from US$54.20, 4.2 (941).
Temples-focused: Viator's UNESCO Ayutthaya Historical Park tour, from $37, 4.6 (1,302). Indexed Klook Historical Park / Bang Pa-In style tours started around US$33.79 — confirm which temples and lunch are included.
Bangkok temples (Grand Palace area)
City temple tours are sold in many combinations (Grand Palace, Wat Pho, Wat Arun). Prices swing with whether entrance tickets are included. GetYourGuide has listed small-group Grand Palace / Wat Pho / Wat Arun options from low double-digit pounds or dollars with fees extra; Viator three-temple products have shown From about US$46 with tickets included on some listings. Read the "Includes" line carefully — palace tickets alone can wipe out an apparent bargain.
Phi Phi and Maya Bay from Phuket
Lowest indexed "from" prices we saw: Klook Phi Phi / Maya / Khai speedboat from US$32.65, 4.5 (4.7K), and Phi Phi / Maya / Bamboo from US$39.65, 4.7 (13.2K). GetYourGuide Phi Phi & Maya speedboat days with lunch showed roughly $36–$48. Viator premium speedboat with lunch was about US$50.75–$52.21.
National-park fees are often cash extras. Maya Bay rules change; ask whether you land or view from the boat.
James Bond Island and Phang Nga Bay
GetYourGuide longtail + sea canoe tours showed from about $46–$58. Klook's James Bond, Phang Nga Bay and Hong Island tour was from US$57.65, 4.6 (8.1K). Viator's premium speedboat with lunch was from US$69.09, 4.7 (~258). Pick by boat type (longtail vs speedboat vs catamaran) and whether canoeing is included — not only by headline price.
Ethical elephant experiences (Phuket)
Elephant Jungle Sanctuary: Klook listed experience packages from US$23.95, 4.8 (2.4K). GetYourGuide showed Ethical Feeding from $27 and Feed & Shower from about $56–$57, 4.8 (1,303). Match the package name — they are not the same length or inclusions.
Observation-only: Phuket Elephant Sanctuary (different venue) on Viator was about from $92–$95, 4.9 (1,428) — no bathing/feeding, more walk-and-watch. Choose that if you want minimal interaction.
Cooking classes (Chiang Mai)
Mama Noi on Klook showed from about US$26.45; Viator about €26.89; GetYourGuide about US$30. The school's own site has listed around 1,000 THB direct with local pickup — compare cancellation terms before you choose a platform.
Chiang Mai temples and nights
Doi Suthep sunset / evening tours appear on GetYourGuide and Klook (indexed Klook evening options have started around the mid-$20s). Street-food and night-bazaar walks are easy to book same-day; for a structured temple + food evening, compare Doi Suthep packages that include transport up the mountain. We did not find one identical product on all three sites with clear matching prices, so treat these as similar rather than matched.
Which tours fit your kind of trip
Solo first-timers
Do one Bangkok market morning (Damnoen + Maeklong from about $25), one Ayutthaya day (temples-only from about $37, or temples + market from about $48), then fly or train north or south. Small-group pickups beat DIY vans when you're still jet-lagged.
Group of friends (Phuket base)
Split a Phi Phi speedboat day (watch the park-fee cash) and a James Bond / Phang Nga day with canoeing if anyone wants kayaks. Book the same cancellation window so weather delays don't strand half the group. Save one quieter day for an elephant sanctuary morning.
Relaxation over checklist tourism
Skip the longest combos (Damnoen + Ayutthaya in one day is a slog). Choose a half-day market tour, a spa or beach afternoon, and one scenic bay trip with lunch included so you're not hunting restaurants in the heat.
Food-focused (Chiang Mai or Bangkok)
Book Mama Noi in Chiang Mai (from about US$26–30) or a Bangkok evening food walk, and leave lunch free at Damnoen or a night market so you're not paying twice for meals on tour days.
Booking tips
- Confirm park and temple fees. Phi Phi, Phang Nga and major Ayutthaya wats often collect cash on site even when the "from" price looks all-in.
- Match the operator name. If the operator matches, the cheapest total usually wins. Klook sometimes hides the operator on category pages.
- Check your exact date. "From" is the cheapest date or option; weekends and holidays cost more.
- Watch the currency. Indexed pages showed USD, THB, EUR or GBP. Set currency before you compare.
- Keep free cancellation for boat days in late October, when Andaman seas can still be rough.
- Compare the operator's own site for Mama Noi and well-known sanctuaries — direct prices are sometimes lower.
