Vietnam This Winter: Best-Value Ha Long Bay Cruises, Ninh Binh, Cu Chi Tunnels, Hoi An and Ba Na Hills Tours Compared (Viator vs GetYourGuide vs Klook)
Viator prices and ratings come from Viator's partner data, and GetYourGuide's from its listing pages, all read around noon Pacific time on Oct 22. Klook blocks automated checks, so we link the Klook listings we found without a price. "From" means the lowest date or option, which can leave out tickets, lunch, pickup, holiday surcharges or tips. Prices are in US dollars as shown. Always confirm the live price for your dates before you book.
Vietnam came up again and again in travel questions this week. People are flying into Ho Chi Minh City for the first time, heading to Da Nang with kids in November, fitting Ninh Binh and Hanoi into a few days, and planning trips over Lunar New Year. The tours they ask about, from Ha Long Bay cruises and Ninh Binh to the Cu Chi Tunnels, Hoi An cooking classes and the Golden Bridge, are often sold by the same local companies on Viator and GetYourGuide, with similar tours on Klook. We matched them so you can compare before you book.
The short answer
- GetYourGuide had the lowest "from" price in 7 of 15 rows, including the overnight balcony cruise ($126 vs $160), the Hanoi food walk ($18 vs $20.50), the lantern class ($10 vs $15.42) and the My Son sunrise trip ($16 vs $19). On the Ninh Binh day, Hanoi motorbike tour and Ba Na Hills it won by $3 or less.
- Viator was cheapest in 6, mostly in the south: the Cu Chi Tunnels ($14.90), Cu Chi and the Mekong ($31.60), the Mekong Delta day ($15) and the Saigon scooter food tour ($27 vs $32), plus the Ha Giang Loop ($136 vs $167) and, by 60 cents, the Ha Long day cruise.
- Two were ties: the Hoi An cooking class with a basket boat ($30) and the Marble Mountains tour ($22).
- Klook has a similar tour in all 15 rows, such as the Cu Chi half-day tour and the Ninh Binh day, but we couldn't confirm any Klook prices.
What the "from" price leaves out
- Tickets: the Ba Na Hills tour includes the cable car ticket only in some options, and the My Son trip on Viator doesn't include the sanctuary ticket.
- Transfers: the 2-day balcony cruise on Viator doesn't include the bus from Hanoi. The lantern class and the Hanoi food walk don't include hotel pickup.
- Permits and surcharges: the Ha Giang Loop doesn't include the border-area permit, and several day trips add holiday fees, paid on site.
- Extras: bullets at the Cu Chi shooting range, drinks on the Ha Long day cruise and tips cost extra.

Ha Long Bay in a day
Lowest "from" price we saw: Indochina Today's Ha Long Bay day cruise on Viator, from $38.40 (4.9 from 1,500), just under from $39 for the same company's day cruise on GetYourGuide (4.8 from 14,448). Viator's listing includes the bay entrance fees, kayaking or a bamboo boat, a set-menu lunch, Ti Top Island and pickup in Hanoi's Old Quarter. Drinks are extra. It also says big buses can't enter most of the Old Quarter at rush hour, so you may be asked to walk to a meeting point.
Klook has a similar Sunlight Grand day cruise on the same Sung Sot and Ti Top route, but we couldn't see its price.
An overnight Ha Long Bay cruise
Lowest "from" price we saw: Ha Long Bay Lux Cruises' 2-day Ha Long and Lan Ha Bay cruise on GetYourGuide, from $126 (4.8 from 6,172), against from $160.00 for the same company's balcony cruise on Viator (4.8 from 994). Viator's listing includes meals, kayaking, a cooking class and night squid fishing, but not drinks or the bus from Hanoi. It also lists a peak-season surcharge from October 1 to April 30 and a single supplement for solo travelers.
Cozy Bay's all-inclusive overnight cruise was from $124.00 on Viator (4.8 from 2,476). Klook sells a similar 2-day Aspira cruise.
Ninh Binh: Hoa Lu, Trang An and Mua Cave
Lowest "from" price we saw: Indochina Today's Ninh Binh day on GetYourGuide, from $47 with 11,367 reviews (4.8). On Viator, Cozy Vietnam Travel's Hoa Lu, Trang An and Mua Cave day was from $48.00 (4.9 from 2,361) and includes entrance fees, a buffet lunch and the guide. It lists holiday surcharges, including February 5–8, 2027 for Lunar New Year.
Cheaper with lots of reviews: Easytours24h's Ninh Binh day with a boat and bike ride was from $38.00 on Viator (4.9 from 5,198). Real Vietnam's Hoa Lu, Trang An boat and Mua Cave tour was from $50 on GetYourGuide (4.9 from 8,335). Klook has a similar Hoa Lu, Trang An and Mua Cave day.
Hanoi street food and Train Street
Lowest "from" price we saw: Crossing Vietnam Tour's food tour with a Train Street visit on GetYourGuide, from $18 (4.9 from 8,407), against from $20.50 for the same company's walk on Viator (5.0 from 1,044). Viator's listing includes five dishes, one drink at Train Street and the guide, but not hotel pickup.
Ha Food Tours' small-group street food tour was from $28.00 on Viator, with 5,506 reviews (5.0). Klook has a similar Old Quarter food tour with an optional Train Street stop.
Hanoi by motorbike
Lowest "from" price we saw: Vietnamtravelers' food and sightseeing motorbike tour on GetYourGuide, from $52 (5.0 from 251). On Viator, Hanoi Backstreet Tours' vintage motorbike tour was from $55.00 with 7,212 reviews (5.0). It includes hotel pickup in and around the Old Quarter, all food and drinks, a driver, a helmet and a rain poncho. You ride on the back, so you don't need a license.
Klook has a similar vintage Minsk motorbike tour.
The Ha Giang Loop
Lowest "from" price we saw: ZGO's 3-day Ha Giang Loop from Hanoi on Viator, from $136.00 (5.0 from 4,201). It includes the cabin bus from Hanoi, a motorbike and fuel, meals, three nights in basic homestays and a Nho Que River boat trip. It leaves out the border-area permit, drinks and tips.
On GetYourGuide, Chestnut Travel's 2- or 3-day loop with an easy rider was from $167 (4.9 from 824). Klook lists a similar 3-day loop. Prices change a lot depending on whether you ride yourself or with a driver, so compare the same option.
The Cu Chi Tunnels
Lowest "from" price we saw: Vietnam Adventure Tours' morning or afternoon Cu Chi Tunnels tour on Viator, from $14.90 (4.9 from 17,099), against from $16 for the same tour on GetYourGuide, which has 24,606 reviews (4.7). The listing includes the guide, transport, pickup from central District 1 hotels and the entry ticket. Shooting-range bullets and tips are extra, and you must be 18 to shoot.
Klook sells a similar half-day Cu Chi tour, but we couldn't see its price.
Cu Chi and the Mekong Delta in one day
Lowest "from" price we saw: the same company's Cu Chi and Mekong Delta day on Viator, from $31.60 (4.9 from 8,317), against from $35 for the same tour on GetYourGuide (4.7 from 14,616). It includes entry tickets, all the boat rides, fruit and a Vietnamese lunch with a vegan option. It's a long day of about 10–11 hours.
Klook lists a similar Cu Chi and Mekong day.
The Mekong Delta
Lowest "from" price we saw: SST Travel's Mekong Delta and coconut village day on Viator, from $15.00 (5.0 from 1,222). It includes boat fees, lunch with a vegan option, fruit and honey tea, and a southern folk music show. It adds a surcharge, paid on site, on holidays including late December and February 3–11, 2027.
Kim Travel's My Tho and Ben Tre tour on GetYourGuide was from $17 (4.8 from 5,164). Klook has a similar Mekong day trip with a boat tour.
Saigon street food by scooter
Lowest "from" price we saw: Saigon Adventure's scooter food tour on Viator, from $27.00 with 10,610 reviews (5.0), against from $32 for the same tour on GetYourGuide (4.9 from 6,058). Viator's listing says all food and drinks are included, you ride behind a driver, and hotel pickup in Districts 1, 3 and 4 is only in the option that includes it.
For 12 tastings, Saigon On Motorbike's night food tour and a 12-tasting tour on GetYourGuide were both from $31. Klook has a similar premium scooter food tour.
A Hoi An cooking class with a basket boat
Lowest "from" price we saw: a tie at $30 for Phu Lanh Travel's cooking class with a basket boat, coffee and lantern making on GetYourGuide (4.9 from 2,079) and Viator (5.0 from 263). Viator's listing includes entrance fees, the coracle boat, the class and pickup in Hoi An.
Hoi An Cooking Class's market, basket boat, fishing and cooking class was from $29.00 on Viator (5.0 from 4,827). On GetYourGuide, a market tour, cooking class and basket boat starts from $6 (4.9 from 3,449). That's its lowest option, so check what it includes. Klook has a similar eco cooking and basket boat tour.
Making a lantern in Hoi An
Lowest "from" price we saw: Hoian Handicraft Tours' foldable lantern class on GetYourGuide, from $10 (4.9 from 4,661), against from $15.42 for the full class on Viator (5.0 from 2,082). Viator's listing includes your lantern, herbal tea and an English-speaking instructor. It says the venue is wheelchair and stroller accessible. Pickup isn't included.
Klook lists a similar lantern class with express and full options.
My Son Sanctuary at sunrise
Lowest "from" price we saw: Hoi An Local Tours' early-morning My Son trip with Champa food on GetYourGuide, from $16 (4.9 from 3,694). On Viator, a similar early-morning trip with Champa food and coffee was from $19.00 (4.9 from 728). Its listing does not include the My Son entrance ticket, so check this on whichever tour you book.
Klook has a similar half-day My Son tour.
Marble Mountains and the Lady Buddha
Lowest "from" price we saw: a tie at $22 for Venus Travel's morning tour on GetYourGuide (4.7 from 6,824) and Viator (4.9 from 2,192). Viator's listing includes the Marble Mountains and Am Phu Cave tickets, local food and pickup in Hoi An or Da Nang. It warns of 282 steps in two flights, with an elevator for the first 146 at your own cost.
Dacotours' Monkey Mountain, Marble Mountains and Am Phu Cave tour was from $20 on GetYourGuide (4.9 from 1,505). Klook has a similar morning tour with lunch.
Ba Na Hills and the Golden Bridge
Lowest "from" price we saw: My Viet Trip's Golden Bridge and Ba Na Hills day on GetYourGuide, from $47 (4.8 from 4,813), 31 cents under the same company's tour on Viator at from $47.31 (4.9 from 1,509). Viator's listing includes the cable car ticket and the buffet lunch only in the options that include them, so the cheapest option may not cover them.
Dacotours' small-group Ba Na Hills day shows from $21.00 on Viator (5.0 from 2,965), but its cable car ticket and lunch are also only in some options. Klook has a similar Ba Na Hills day tour.
Which tours fit your kind of trip
First trip, starting in Ho Chi Minh City
Several people are flying into Saigon, some for a week in January. A good start is the Cu Chi and Mekong Delta day ($31.60 on Viator), or split it into the half-day Cu Chi tour and the Mekong Delta day. If you're nervous about street food, a guided night like Saigon Adventure's scooter food tour lets you try lots of dishes with a local who knows the stalls. Then fly to Da Nang for Hoi An.
Hanoi, Ninh Binh and Ha Long in a few days
A common plan is a few days in Hanoi with day trips. Book the Ninh Binh day and either the Ha Long Bay day cruise or, if you have two days, the overnight balcony cruise. Spend an evening on the Old Quarter food walk with Train Street.
Families with kids in Da Nang and Hoi An
Families are heading to Da Nang in November. The basket boat and cooking class and the lantern class are easy wins for children, and the lantern listing says strollers are fine. For a big day out, the Ba Na Hills and Golden Bridge tour has cable cars and an indoor games park, but check that your option includes the ticket.
Groups looking for food
A family group arriving in early November asked where to eat together. Food tours are a good first night: the small-group Hanoi street food tour, the Hanoi motorbike food tour or, in Saigon, the 12-tasting night tour. Tell the company about any dietary needs when you book.
Riding the Ha Giang Loop
The loop came up again for trips in late November. If you haven't ridden in Vietnam before, an easy-rider trip like ZGO's 3-day loop or Chestnut Travel's 2- or 3-day loop means a local drives and you ride behind. Check whether the border-area permit is included.
Traveling over Lunar New Year (Tet) 2027
Some people have already booked trips over Tet. Many tours still run but add surcharges: the Ninh Binh day lists February 5–8, 2027, the Mekong Delta day lists February 3–11, and the Ha Long day cruise charges US$10 extra over the holiday. Book early and check each listing's holiday notes.
Booking tips
- Match the company name. In 10 of our 15 rows the same company sells the tour on both Viator and GetYourGuide, for example Vietnam Adventure Tours (Cu Chi), Saigon Adventure (scooter food tour), Venus Travel (Marble Mountains) and Hoian Handicraft Tours (lantern class). Prices still differed by up to $34 on the overnight cruise.
- Check what the cheapest option leaves out. The Ba Na Hills cable car ticket, the My Son entrance ticket and the bus to the overnight cruise aren't always in the "from" price.
- Watch for peak and holiday surcharges. The balcony cruise adds a peak-season surcharge from October to April, and the Ninh Binh and Mekong days add fees on public holidays.
- Pickup zones are small. The Cu Chi tour picks up only from central District 1 hotels, and the Ha Long day cruise may meet you at a set point in Hanoi's Old Quarter at rush hour.
- Free cancellation is common. Every Viator listing in our table, from the Ha Long day cruise to the lantern class, gives a full refund if you cancel at least 24 hours ahead. Check each GetYourGuide listing, such as the Ha Giang Loop, for its own terms.
